TLC – Atlanta

History of The Literary Consortium-Atlanta (TLC-Atlanta)

The Literary Consortium-Atlanta (TLC-Atlanta) is an affiliate of The Literary Club-Detroit (TLC-Detroit). As TLC-Detroit was established in 1995 by a group of 24 ladies for enjoyable, stress-free fellowship and stimulating
book discussions, TLC-Atlanta was formed on Saturday, May 31, 1997 to review selected books of interest and for camaraderie among its thirty-six (36) members (closed membership). Currently, this membership seeks to increase knowledge, awareness and literacy through reading, discussion of books of all genres, and author lectures.   TLC-Atlanta also supports the education of young people in public schools through the reading of books during National Read across America Day or the recognition of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
